AAMC mailing lists are available for sharing valuable information and resources with our member institutions and constituents.


Subcommittee Recruitment

Subcommittees exist to implement the strategic initiatives and actions of the GIP. Subcommittees are chaired/co-chaired by members of the Steering Committee who report back to the Steering Committee on activities and progress. Participation on a Subcommittee will help professionals within academic medicine grow and learn in their professional roles and develop their leadership capacities. Subcommittee members actively participate in hour-long monthly conference calls and are assigned follow up tasks between each call that could require anywhere from 1–3 hours of time per month. Some months there is no work required. Attendance and participation in annual in-person meeting is encouraged.

GIP Steering Committee

The Steering Committee sets policy for the Group on Institutional Planning and manages GIP affairs.

Expectations and Responsibilities for Participation on a GIP Subcommittee

Invest in your own professional and leadership development by participating on one of the three GIP subcommittees.

GIP Professional Development Subcommittee

Group on Institutional Planning Professional Development Subcommittee plans and provides leadership on professional development activities within the Group on Institutional Planning.

GIP Data and Information Subcommittee

The GIP Data and Information Subcommittee is charged with establishing a library of information that is useful to members of the GIP.

GIP Membership Inclusion and Engagement Subcommittee

The GIP Membership Inclusion and Engagement Subcommittee is responsible for fostering a diverse, inclusive, and engaged membership.

Data Driven Academic Medical Centers Work Group

The Data Driven Academic Medical Centers Work Group seeks to be a coordinating source of resources to share knowledge and enable academic medical centers to leverage new and existing data to inform the decisions across its missions, strategic initiatives, and daily operations. This cross-cutting work group is led by Chairs coming from the GIR, GBA, and GIP but is open to all members of the AAMC community.
