The AAMC is recruiting for the association’s next chief communications and marketing officer (CCMO), chief health care officer (CHCO), and chief public policy officer (CPPO). The chief communications and marketing officer (CCMO) works in collaboration with AAMC’s president and CEO, the entire AAMC leadership team, and the Board of Directors to lead the development, oversight, and implementation of a comprehensive communications and marketing program to support the AAMC’s policy priorities, industry reputation, crisis communications, brand management, and marketing campaigns. The chief health care officer (CHCO) role focuses on the intersection of academic medical centers and health care delivery systems, and works closely with constituents from AAMC member institutions, federal agencies, and partnering organizations with a mission to enable teaching hospitals to provide access to high-value, high-quality patient care, sustain their academic missions, and remain financially stable. The chief public policy officer (CPPO) leads the AAMC’s public policy and advocacy efforts on governmental policies, particularly those involving AAMC member medical schools and teaching hospitals’ missions of education, research, clinical care, and community collaboration.

The AAMC will assist you with the cost of your medical care by providing helpful contributions towards your medical and dental premium for you and your dependents.

Your choices include:

FSAs allow you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for medical expenses and dependent care expenses.

AAMC values your contribution and recognizes your need to recharge. As an eligible AAMC employee, you will accrue between 15 to 22 days of annual leave per year with a generous rollover.

Additionally, you will receive two personal days each calendar year or on your first day of hire.

When life happens and you need to care for your health, or the health of someone else in your household, you can rest assured knowing you are accruing up to 12 days per year of sick leave. As an added benefit, if you can provide documentation of accumulated sick leave from your previous employer, AAMC will credit your sick leave balance up to 20 days.

AAMC’s Sick Leave Trust program allows you and other staff members to donate sick leave hours to a general fund. Those hours can then be accessed by participating staff members who have exhausted their sick and annual leave balances when managing their own serious health condition, or that of a family member.

AAMC provides multiple options to help protect you and your beneficiaries in the event of loss of life or disability. Your options include:

As an association supporting the medical education community, the AAMC is committed to fostering ongoing employee learning. In support of this commitment, AAMC offers tuition reimbursement to eligible employees in pursuit of receiving college credits up to $5,250 per calendar year. Tuition reimbursement is prorated for part-time employees.

AAMC takes pride in providing staff with the necessary tools and essential resources in building financial education and developing financial security that leads to retirement readiness. AAMC contributes up to 10% of your salary once you are fully enrolled in the plan and have met the service waiting period. AAMC will waive the service waiting period for new employees that come directly from a qualifying employer. You can speak with one of our retirement specialists to determine eligibility.

AAMC will cover 80% of the commuter benefit, up to $120 per month for the use of local public transportation systems, commuter rails, or private commercial van pools.

If you choose to drive, AAMC provides onsite parking for a discounted fee through payroll deductions. Those who participate in a carpool are eligible for free parking.

AAMC’s hybrid workforce model empowers employees with the flexibility to work where they choose in order to be the most productive to achieve the goals of AAMC.

Employees may choose to work remotely full-time, remotely part-time (combination of remote work and in the office) or work full-time in the office. This mix is determined by position eligibility, specified business activities in the building, and employee preference.

Recognizing the unique needs of today’s working parent, AAMC offers emergency backup child care services up to 10 days per calendar year with a nominal co-pay. The service also extends to in-home care for children and elders.

For parents of children with special needs, AAMC offers ReThink Benefits. Rethink is a free employee benefit to support parents caring for children with learning or behavioral challenges. The service offers access to a behavior expert as well as a vast library of resources.

New hires are required under this policy to be fully vaccinated prior to their first day of employment and will need to show proof of vaccination. All Employees must be fully vaccinated by January 10, 2022. Employees who do not fulfill the above requirements may be terminated for non-compliance consistent with applicable law.
