Residents Who Completed Training, 2009-18
The table below displays the number and percentage of individuals who completed residency training from 2009 through 2018, are not currently active in any GME program, and have a full-time faculty appointment at a U.S. MD-granting medical school, by ACGME-accredited specialty and subspecialty and by faculty-appointment rank. Data include graduates of MD-granting and DO-granting U.S. and Canadian schools as well as graduates of international medical schools. For example, 240 of the 1,323 individuals (18.1%) who last completed residency training from 2009 through 2018 in allergy and immunology currently hold an assistant professor full-time faculty appointment at a U.S. MD-granting medical school. Part-time faculty appointments are not included. Counts and percentages shown for specialties do not include counts and percentages for the related subspecialties. Selected Finding: Of those individuals who completed residency training from 2009 through 2018 and who currently hold a full-time faculty appointment at a U.S. MD-granting medical school, 77.6% (14.7% of the entire cohort that completed residency training) hold appointments at the assistant professor level.
