Medical School Graduation Years 2007-08 Through 2013-14
The table below displays the number of U.S. MD-granting school graduates who completed a residency program in each specialty, by type of medical degree program (e.g., MD-PhD). The data displayed are for the most recently completed ACGME-accredited specialty and subspecialty as of Dec. 31, 2018. For example, for the graduating class of 2013-14, emergency medicine was the last completed specialty for 1,343 MD graduates, 13 MD-PhD graduates, and 36 graduates with another combined MD-graduate degree (e.g., MD-MPH). The graduation years are shown in three-year increments, from 2007-08 through 2013-14. Individuals who are shown as having completed a residency may be active again in another residency program.
