The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry (ACTPCMD) will meet via webinar to discuss its Tenth and Eleventh Reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

Sept. 15: PCORI Board of Governors Meeting

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Board of Governors will meet to consider its FY 2015 budget and discuss the PCORNet Clinical Data Research Network, Patient-Powered Research Network Principal Investigators, and Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) PCOR trust fund research agenda, among other items. The meeting is open to the public and also will be available via webinar/teleconference.

The Senate Special Aging Committee will hold a hearing on the promises and challenges of telehealth.

The Senate Finance Health Subcommittee will hold a hearing on the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Sept. 16: Joint Senate Hearing on Ebola in West Africa
2:30 p.m.; 216 Hart Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Health, Education, Labor, Pensions (HELP) Committee and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) will hold a joint hearing to examine the public health threat of Ebola in West Africa. Witnesses include: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Tom Frieden, M.D., M.P.H.; National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Anthony Fauci, M.D.; and Health and Human Services Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) Director Robin Robinson, Ph.D.

The Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Payment Access Commission (MACPAC) will hold a public meeting. The agenda will be available on the MACPAC website, where they also accept public comments.

Sept. 19: NCATS Advisory Council and CAN Review Board Meeting
8:30 a.m.; 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, Md.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) and Cures Acceleration Network (CAN) Review Board will meet jointly. The meeting will include a Director’s Report, trends in NIH National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) funding of basic and applied neuroscience, as well as Clinical and Transitional Science Awards (CTSA) and Tissue Chip for Drug Screening program updates.

Sept. 19: PCAST Meeting
9 a.m.; 2100 Constitution Avenue N.W., Washington, D.C.
The President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) will meet to discuss STEM education, advanced manufacturing partnerships, and alternative visions for the future of science and technology, among other items.
