The House Ways and Means Committee will hold a hearing on the status of the implementation and enrollment process of the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

Oct. 30: House Energy and Commerce Committee Hearing on ACA Implementation

The House Energy and Commerce Committee will hold a hearing on the implementation of Affordable Care Act (ACA). Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) Kathleen Sebelius is expected to testify.

Oct. 30: Senate to Mark Up CHGME Reauthorization, CHIMP Act
10 a.m.; 430 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will mark up draft legislation to reauthorize the Children’s Hospital Graduate Medical Education (CHGME) program as well as the Chimpanzee Health Improvement, Maintenance, and Protection (CHIMP) Act.

Oct. 30: PCORI Webinar on Merit Review

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will host a webinar describing the process and rationale for their approach to reviewing research proposals for funding, which includes patients and other health care stakeholders along with researchers in the review of all proposals.

Nov. 6: HIT Policy Meeting

The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee will meet via webinar to discuss recommendations to the National Coordinator for Health IT on a policy framework for the development and adoption of a nationwide health information infrastructure, including standards for the exchange of patient medical information.

The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) will hold a public meeting. When available, MedPAC will solicit comments on the agenda via its Web site.
