Aug. 5-Sept.6: House and Senate in Recess
The House and Senate will be in recess Aug. 5 through Sept. 6 for the summer recess and Labor Day holiday. Both chambers will be in session starting Monday, Sept. 9.

Aug. 19-20: Bioethics Meeting
9 a.m.; 3400 Civic Center Boulevard, Building 421, Philadelphia
The Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues will hold its fourteenth meeting to discuss the ethical implications of incidental findings and the BRAIN Initiative, among other items.

Aug. 22: HIT Standards Meeting
9 a.m.; Webinar
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee will meet via webinar to discuss standards implementation specifications and certification criteria for the electronic exchange of health information.

Aug. 29: ACTPCMD Webinar
Time: TBA; Webinar
The Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Advisory Committee on Training in Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry (ACTPCMD) will meet via webinar. The committee advises and makes recommendations to the Secretary concerning policy, program development, and other matters of significance concerning the HRSA Bureau of Health Professions family medicine, general internal medicine, and general pediatrics programs among others.

Sept. 4: HIT Policy Meeting
9:30 a.m.; Webinar
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) Health Information Technology (HIT) Policy Committee will meet via webinar to discuss recommendations to the National Coordinator for Health IT on a policy framework for the development and adoption of a nationwide health information infrastructure, including standards for the exchange of patient medical information.

Sept. 9-10: HRSA COGME Meeting
Time: TBA; Location TBA
The Health Resources and Service Administration’s (HRSA) Council on Graduate Medical Education (COGME) will hold an in-person meeting in the Washington, D.C. area. The committee provides an ongoing assessment of physician workforce trends, training issues and financing policies, and recommends appropriate federal and private sector efforts to address identified needs.

Sept. 12-13: MedPAC Meeting
Time: TBA; 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.
The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) will hold a public meeting. When available, MedPAC will solicit comments on the agenda via its Web site.
