April 16: Senate Budget Hearing on President’s FY14 Request
3 p.m.; 608 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Budget Committee will hold a hearing on the President’s FY 2014 budget proposal. Department of Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew is scheduled to testify.

April 17: HIT Standards Meeting
9 a.m.; 1401 Lee Highway, Arlington, Va.
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee will meet to discuss standards implementation specifications and certification criteria for the electronic exchange of health information.

April 17: House Hearing on Science Agencies in the President’s FY14 Request
10 a.m.; 2318 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Science, Space and Technology Committee will hold a hearing to discuss the President’s FY 2014 budget request for science agencies. Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) Director John Holdren, Ph.D., is scheduled to testify.

April 17: Senate Subcommittee Hearing on President’s FY14 HHS Budget Request

The Senate Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies (Labor-HHS) Appropriations Subcommittee is expected hear testimony from Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius regarding the president’s FY 2014 budget request.

April 23: PCORI Roundtable Discussion on Patient-Centered CER
9 a.m.; 529 14th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will hold a roundtable to discuss how to create a national data infrastructure to support high-quality patient-centered comparative effectiveness research (CER), and PCORI’s release of two funding announcements focused on development of research data networks. AAMC’s Chief Scientific Officer Ann Bonham, Ph.D., will participate in the roundtable. Registration required by Friday, April 19 at 5 p.m. A webcast will be available.
