President Barack Obama will deliver the State of the Union address, which will be streamed live on the White House Web site.

Feb. 12: Senate Budget Hearing on CBO Economic Outlook
10:30 a.m.; 608 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Budget Committee will hold a hearing on the budget and economic outlook prepared by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf, Ph.D., will testify.

Feb. 12-13: MACPAC Meeting
10:45 a.m.; 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.
The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) will meet to discuss Medicaid primary care physician payment increase; CMS initiatives to improve data for program operations and evaluation; the draft March report chapter on the roles of Medicare and Medicaid for diverse dual-eligible subpopulations; among other items. The agenda is subject to change. MACPAC accepts public comments during the public meetings and through its Web site.  

Feb. 13: House Budget and Economic Outlook Hearing
10 a.m.; 210 Cannon House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Budget Committee will hold a hearing on the budget and economic outlook prepared by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf, Ph.D., will testify.

Feb. 13: Senate to Mark Up PAHPRA
10 a.m.; 430 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) Committee will mark up the Pandemic and All-Hazards Preparedness Reauthorization Act of 2013 (PAHPRA, S. 242).

Feb. 13: Hearing on Influenza Preparedness
10 a.m.; 2123 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations will hold a hearing entitled, “Influenza: Perspective on Current Season and Update on Preparedness.”  The hearing will be webcast.

Feb. 13: Hearing on Budget’s Impact on Families and Communities
10:30 a.m.; 608 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Budget Committee will hold a hearing on the impact of the federal budget on families and communities. The committee plans to have members of the public in attendance to discuss how federal budget decisions impact families and communities across the country.

Feb. 14: Senate Appropriations Hearing on Sequestration

The Senate Appropriations Committee is expected to hold a hearing on the effects of sequestration. More information should be available on the appropriations Web site.

Feb. 14: House Hearing on Tax Reform and Charitable Donations
9:30 a.m.; 1100 Longworth House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Committee on Ways and Means will hold a hearing to examine the itemized deduction for charitable contributions as part of the Committee’s work on tax reform. The Committee is accepting statements and letters for the record.

Feb. 14: Energy and Commerce Committee Hearing on SGR
10:15 a.m.; 2123 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health will hold a hearing entitled, “SGR: Data, Measures and Models; Building a Future Medicare Physician Payment System.” Witnesses will be announced and are by invitation only, and the hearing will be available by webcast.
