Figure 20 displays the percentages of physicians by sex and race/ethnicity. Among Black or African American physicians, females constituted a larger proportion than males. However, there was a greater proportion of males than females in all other groups: 65.5% of White physicians were male; 60.1% of American Indian or Alaska Native physicians were male; 59.5% of Hispanic physicians (alone or in combination with another race) were male; and 55.7% of Asian physicians were male.
