The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will hold a hearing on ways to increase state flexibility in the individual health care market.

Sept. 12: Senate Finance Committee Hearing on Cost and Coverage
10 a.m.; 215 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Finance Committee will hold a hearing on issues impacting cost and coverage in health care. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Former Acting Administrator Andy Slavitt is among the witnesses.

Sept. 13: Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Immigration and DACA
10 a.m.; 226 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Judiciary Committee will hold a hearing on the long-term impact of immigration, including exploring reforms to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Michael Dougherty, Assistant Secretary for Border, Immigration, and Trade, Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, is among the witnesses.

Sept. 13: House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee Hearing on Regulation of Over-the-Counter Drugs

The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee will hold a hearing on modernizing the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) regulation of over-the-counter drugs.

Sept. 14: House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee Hearing on Health Workforce Programs
10 a.m.; 2123 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee will hold a hearing to review public health workforce programs, including the National Health Service Corps, the Teaching Health Center GME, Title VII health workforce education and training programs, and Title VIII nursing workforce and education programs.

Sept. 14: Senate HELP Committee Hearing on Market Stabilization – Health Care Stakeholders
10 a.m.; 430 Dirksen Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C.
The Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will hold a hearing with health care industry representatives on stabilizing insurance premiums. Manny Sethi, MD, orthopedic trauma surgeon and assistant professor, Vanderbilt University, will be among the witnesses. 

Sept. 14-15: MACPAC Meeting
8:45 a.m.; 1300 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.
The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) will meet Sept. 14-15 to discuss a variety of topics, including Medicaid enrollment and renewal, monitoring and evaluating Section 1115 research and demonstration waivers, policy options for controlling Medicaid spending on prescription drugs, and more.
