Current VSAS® Users
Current Visiting Student Learning Opportunities™ (VSLO®) program updates and resources are provided to participants through the VSLO listserv, email, and this webpage. We encourage you to bookmark this page and visit regularly to stay updated on what’s happening with the VSLO program. If you have questions, please contact the VSLO team at email@example.com.
Many DO-granting institutions and their medical students currently participate in the VSLO program. A new AAMC/AACOM contractual agreement expands access to the VSLO service. Participating DO schools can now choose, along with their Home institutional role, to become Host institutions. Additionally, schools can elect to participate in the VSLO Global Network. Please explore these new options further by reviewing this presentation.
Contact us with any questions you may have about these new opportunities.
Showcase Your Institution’s URiM Opportunities for Visiting Students
The VSLO program is eager to help institutions highlight opportunities for students underrepresented in medicine (URiM) in an easily accessible, centralized location on our student website. Please fill out this form to submit specific URiM opportunities. To ensure that the opportunities are relevant and up-to-date, postings will be listed in month-long intervals. Submitted opportunities will be made available on the VSLO program’s For Students page of the AAMC’s student and resident hub. We also strongly encourage you to list these opportunities in the VSLO application service.
Job Aids and Templates for the VSAS System
The COVID-19/VSLO Technical Guidance job aid provides Host institutions with an overview of what should be reviewed and updated in the Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS®), if institution policies regarding visiting students have changed due to COVID-19.
Resources for Host and Home institution administrators on institution management, student management, and application processing can be found here, including information on managing roles, uploading student rosters, inviting students, releasing applications, and more. Prospective institutions can join live VSAS system demonstrations and current users can register for training webinars on our Demonstrations and Training page.
