    Learn, Apply, Bridge (LAB) Series

    The Learn, Apply, Build (Lab) Series highlights the meaningful work taking place across the community. These sessions provide a space to share promising practices and explore practical, innovative approaches relevant to faculty and professional staff.

    Designed to be interactive, each session combines focused learning with opportunities for application, allowing participants to engage with content, reflect on their own context, and leave with ideas they can apply in their work.

    Coaching for Professional and Personal Growth Webinar (video). This webinar introduces coaching as a powerful tool for advancing career development and personal well-being. Participants will gain insights into how coaching can support goal setting, leadership growth, and resilience. It was presented by the former Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) in 2026.

    The following webinars were developed by the former Group on Faculty Affairs and are being retained here as a professional development resource:

    • Legacy in Leadership: Pathways to Senior Roles in Academia (video). This 2025 webinar provides an overview of the roles, responsibilities, and expectations of senior leadership positions such as dean, provost, president, and health system CEO. Participants will gain insight into the skills and experiences needed for these roles while identifying practical steps to prepare for future leadership opportunities.
    • Professional Development Webinar: Innovative Programs for Mid-Career Faculty in Academic Medicine (video). Created in 2024, this webinar explores innovative programs designed to support mid-career faculty in academic medicine. Some highlights include best practices, successful initiatives, and the impact of these programs on professional development, work-life balance, and career advancement.
    • AAMC Faculty Life Cycle Series. This collection of webinars covers topics central to faculty affairs and development professionals. Each webinar provides practical information and promising practices to enhance professional development throughout the faculty career life cycle.
    • Onward and Upward: Exploring New Horizons for Advanced Career Faculty Webinar (video). This 2026 webinar highlights the strengths and contributions of advanced career faculty while exploring strategies for navigating transitions, pursuing new opportunities, and planning for retirement. Participants will also learn about effective programs that support this stage of career development and consider ways to implement similar resources at their own institutions.
    • Reexamine, Refocus, Retrain for Renewal Webinar Series. The Reexamine, Refocus, Retrain for Renewal series provides resources, insights, and best practices focusing on mentorship, self-assessment, and establishing a development plan.
