PCORI Deadline for LOI Rapidly Approaches

January 11, 2013—Jan. 15 is the deadline for researchers to submit required letters of intent (LOI) to the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) indicating intent to deliver a proposal for the most recent PCORI funding announcement (PFA), “Improving Methods for Conducting Patient-Centered Outcomes Research.” The newly released PFA corresponds to PCORI’s fifth priority area — Accelerating Patient-Centered and Methodological Research [see Washington Highlights, April 27, 2012] — and PCORI expects to distribute $12 million in contracts to fund up to 14 projects.

PCORI anticipates that further funds related to this priority area will become available later in 2013. Researchers can find administrative guidelines and templates at PCORI’s online application center for completing the letters of intent.
