The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protections (SACHRP) will meet Oct. 9 and 10. Agenda items include informed consent issues, NeuroNext IRB experience, Internet research, and other items.

Oct. 9-12: NIH Research Festival

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) will hold its annual Research Festival Oct. 9 through Oct. 12. The opening plenary, featuring NIH Director Francis Collins, M.D., Ph.D., and several other Institute directors, will focus on where the NIH has been over the last 125 years and the “big vision” of where the NIH is going in the future. Other events include plenary sessions, poster sessions, awards ceremonies, and special exhibits.
