The House and Senate will be in recess August 6 through September 7 for the summer recess. Both chambers will be in session starting September 10.

Aug. 14: PCORI Webinar on Standards for Patient-Centered Research

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will hold a webinar to provide stakeholders with an in-depth look at its draft Methodology Report as well as the proposed standards for how patients should be engaged in the research process.

Aug. 15: HIT Standards Committee Meeting

The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology (HIT) Standards Committee will meet to discuss standards implementation specifications and certification criteria for the electronic exchange of health information.

Aug. 27-30: Republican National Convention

The Republican National Convention will be held August 27 through August 30 in Tampa, Fl. At the convention, the party will officially select candidates for both president and vice president as well as adopt the party’s platform.

Sept. 4-6: Democratic National Convention
The Democratic National Convention will be held September 4 through September 6 in Charlotte, N.C. At the convention, participants will hear from keynote speaker, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, as well as former president Bill Clinton, who will announce President Barak Obama as the party’s official candidate for president.
