Navigating the 2019 Admissions Cycle with the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool

Please join members of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Admissions Tools and Resources on August 2, 2018, 3:00 p.m. ET for "Navigating the 2019 Admissions Cycle with the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School Tool", the first in a series of webinars to help the admissions community navigate the changes in the admissions process and to get more in depth understanding of the new tools and reports being developed in AMCAS. During this 60-minute webinar, representatives from AAMC member institutions will share their revised admissions policies for the 2019 application cycle and will share how they plan on using the new tool to support their admission practices. Panelists will also share what resources and partnerships were used to devise new policies for the upcoming cycle.


By the end of this webinar participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool.
  • Discuss potential resources that can assist in revising their admission practices.

Enhancing Accessibility and Support in Admissions and Student Affairs

The AAMC invites you to participate in a webinar on Enhancing Accessibility and Support in Admissions and Student Affairs on August, 7 from 3-4pm EST. This interactive one-hour webinar will share effective practices for communicating with and supporting applicants and learners with disabilities as well as approaches to fairly evaluating these applicants. The speakers will also offer suggestions for engaging in conversation that facilitates access and discuss how learners should request accommodations.

In addition to offering opportunities to engage with the speakers, this webinar will:

  • Define the ADA and its application to learners with disabilities during admissions and medical school.
  • Share how one school created and implemented an equal access approach to evaluation of candidates with disabilities.
  • Describe the process by which medical students should request accommodations.
