The United States could see a national shortage of up to 90,000 physicians by 2025, according to a new physician workforce analysis. These projections, and the shortage’s impact on primary and specialty care, were the topic of a March 25 Capitol Hill briefing by Atul Grover, MD, PhD, chief public policy officer of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), entitled “The Complexities of Physician Supply and Demand: Projections from 2013 to 2025.”
