External Relations Group
The External Relations Group comprises alumni relations, communications, community relations, development, and marketing professionals. It develops and disseminates resources, best practices, educational opportunities, and peer-to-peer connections that enable members to increase awareness, understanding, and support among their institutional communities and the public, media, policymakers, alumni, and donors for academic medicine. It also fosters members’ professional growth and development, interaction and collaboration within the external relations community, and communication between the AAMC and its institutional members.

The External Relations Group was established on July 1, 2026. All members of the former Group on Institutional Advancement will be enrolled in the new group.
