March 17, 2017—President Trump March 10 nominated Scott Gottlieb, MD, to serve as Health and Human Services (HHS) Food and Drugs Commissioner. Dr. Gottlieb currently serves as a physician, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and a venture partner at New Enterprise Associates. He also has prior service at the FDA, where he served as Deputy Commissioner for Medical and Scientific Affairs.
President Trump March 14 nominated Eric D. Hargan to serve as Health and Human Services (HHS) Deputy Secretary. Mr. Hargan has prior service in HHS, including serving in the roles of Deputy General Counsel, Principal Associate Deputy Secretary, and as Acting Deputy Secretary.
