Acceptance of Terms

These terms (“Terms”) govern your submission to the Association of American Medical Colleges (“AAMC”). By submitting materials to AAMC, you signify your agreement to and acceptance of all the Terms set forth below. If you do not accept these Terms, do not submit materials to us.

These Terms govern submissions made directly to AAMC staff members, social media sites, webpages, and affiliate program sites. The AAMC Website Terms and Conditions and AAMC Privacy Statement are incorporated by reference. If a conflict exists between the AAMC Website Terms and Conditions, the AAMC Privacy Statement, and these Terms, these Terms shall take precedence.

By using AAMC sites, you also indicate your understanding that we may revise these Terms from time to time without providing notice to you. Your continued use of our site(s) after we have revised the Terms will indicate that you accept them as revised. We recommend you review these Terms regularly.

Submission Requirements

Material submissions may include, but are not limited to, text, images, videos, and audio. Submissions also include content shared via AAMC social media or using an official AAMC hashtag.

You represent that you hold all original copyrights to the materials submitted, or have obtained written permission from the copyright owner to make these materials available via a publicly accessible website, such as www.aamc.org. In addition, if your submission contains a reference or image of a person other than you, you represent that you have obtained permission of such person to include his/her information in the submission.

You understand, that if you are a student, you are wholly responsibly for complying with your medical school’s academic and laboratory rules regarding public discussion and AAMC bears no responsibility in ensuring your submission is in complies with those policies.

Each AAMC program or web presence may have its own specific guidelines or requirements for submissions, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Submission Screening Process

You understand that submitting materials to AAMC does not guarantee that the materials will be reviewed, accepted, or published.

You understand that AAMC may edit the materials at its sole discretion to enhance its relevance, consistency, usability, or to conform to AAMC publication standards. Further, you understand that AAMC may revise or delete your materials at any time.

Intellectual Property Grant

To the extent permissible under applicable law, you hereby grant AAMC a non-exclusive, perpetual, world-wide, royalty free right to display, reproduce, disseminate, adapt, modify, annotate, archive, and otherwise use your submitted materials for any purpose determined by AAMC, including promotions and advertising. This grant extends to all traditional, digital, and electronic media. Further, you grant AAMC the right to associate your name, image, and biographical data in connection with your submitted content.


You release and forever discharge AAMC it agents, officers, and employees from any and all claims and demands arising out of or in connection with the use of the submission, including but not limited to, any claims for invasion of privacy or defamation.

If a provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction that shall not affect the validity or enforceability in another jurisdiction or any other provision of these Terms.

If you wish to withdraw your submitted material from AAMC use, please email socialmedia@aamc.org. I understand and agree that AAMC will take commercially reasonable efforts to stop using the submitted material at issue.
