AAMC-OSR Administrative Board Update

February 2018

I hope everyone had an enjoyable (and relaxing!) holiday season and that 2018 is off to a great start!

As we near the end of February, I want to wish the very best to all the MS4s on the upcoming Match Day in March. The entire academic medicine family is looking forward to the big day. In fact, the AAMC is hosting its annual viewing event for its staff, which is sure to be full of excitement! Good luck to all!

Registration is still open for the 2017 AAMC Annual Meeting in Boston! This event is an amazing opportunity to meet and interact with your fellow OSRs and also faculty, staff, and administrators from across the entire AAMC spectrum.

In addition to the anticipation of Match Day, we have some fantastic upcoming AAMC events.

First, I hope to see everyone at the joint GSA-GRA-OSR-ORR spring meeting in Orlando, Florida! Entitled “Continuum Connections”, the meeting is going to be an excellent opportunity to engage with those at all levels of academic medicine. In addition to building your network, the meeting will be a great way to stay up to date on important medical education topics relevant to students, such as wellness, diversity, and educational innovation. If you have any specific questions or concerns about the joint spring meeting, please feel free to reach out to me!

Second, while it may feel like LSL 2017 just happened, your OSR Ad Board is already hard at work planning a fantastic program for LSL 2018 in Austin, Texas. Led by your incredible Chair-Elect, Christle Nwora, breakout sessions are being designed and logistics determined. If you have any interest in helping to lead or run a session at LSL 2018, please reach out to us! We are always happy to have more OSRs involved.

Lastly, I want to thank all OSRs for the continued engagement throughout the year. Medical school is certainly busy, but your OSR Ad Board greatly appreciates your active involvement. Please continue to send along project ideas.

As always, I am available at anytime for all OSRs if questions or concerns arise. Feel free to reach out!
