The AAMC Organizational Characteristics Database (OCD) is an Excel-based report that provides information on a number of salient dimensions about the organizational characteristics of medical schools.
The OCD includes information on teaching hospitals' most recently reported primary medical school affiliates. The medical school-teaching hospital affiliations come from the COTH Annual and Quarterly Surveys of Hospital Operations and Financial Performance as reported by teaching hospital respondents.
The OCD reflects information for U.S. MD-granting medical education programs that had preliminary, provisional, or full LCME accreditation as of June 7, 2024, and medical school and teaching hospital affiliations available as of June 7, 2024.
The OCD workbook contains a detailed description for each of its fields. Visit this link to view a high-level list of fields.
