During this interactive, 75-minute webinar, participants heard from speakers at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons about their experiences in implementing remote/hybrid/return to work policies and how each of these options has an impact on their culture. After the presentations and a larger group discussion during the Q&A portion, participants then had time to share their own experiences in small group breakout rooms.
Some topics covered included: ensuring equity among your workforce when making policies about remote/hybrid/return to office; making and implementing policies during a time of many uncertainties and how to be nimble; how your institution is defining “flexible” work; compensation adjustments for out of state/area workers; recruitment and retention issues; and suggestions and ideas that are effective in creating a sense of team and community.
