In 2020, medical schools across the country quickly pivoted from in-person training by moving classes online and taking students off clinical rotations. As the world learned to cope with COVID-19 with proper protective equipment and vaccines, institutions cautiously allowed students back in the classroom and in the hospital, but medical students trained over the past few years have had a far different experience than their predecessors.
AAMCNews spoke with five students about how they believe their experiences during the pandemic years will shape their futures as physicians.
