The AAMC (Association of American Medical Colleges), Association of American Universities (AAU), Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), and Council on Governmental Relations (COGR) today released the following statement on the SUCCESS Act:
As associations representing research universities, their medical schools and their research and technology transfer professionals, we applaud the introduction of the SUCCESS Act.
We strongly support finding ways to increase the participation of women and underrepresented populations in innovation and invention. Through the joint study to be conducted by the Small Business Administration and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, we hope this effort will develop new ways that government can help foster greater diversity and inclusion within the innovation ecosystem.
The Association of American Medical Colleges is a not-for-profit association dedicated to transforming health care through innovative medical education, cutting-edge patient care, and groundbreaking medical research.
