About the COF

Mission Statement:

The Compliance Officers’ Forum promotes compliance and ethical conduct in academic medicine in collaboration with member organizations as they advance their clinical, research and education missions.

The AAMC established the Compliance Officers' Forum (COF) in 1996 to help AAMC-member institutions address the many issues surrounding compliance activities. COF is open to employees of AAMC-member institutions who have major compliance responsibility—generally the compliance officer, staff of the compliance office, and members of the compliance committee. COF provides interested individuals with a variety of networking and educational opportunities.

The COF holds an annual educational meeting in the late spring that examines a range of compliance related topics. COF also provides members with publications, semi-annual surveys of compliance activities, and manages a variety of listserves such as physician billing and coding, privacy, and research.
