This webinar, sponsored by the Chief Medical Officers' Group (CMOG), included a presentation on the Houston Methodist Medicare Enhanced Track Accountable Care Organization (ACO), which utilized innovative, patient-centered case management strategies to prevent readmissions, standardize post-acute placement, and identify avoidable admissions with the secondary outcome of decreasing LOS. After presentations from the speakers, participants had the opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion on recent trends of increasing LOS at many academic medical centers (AMCs), which has been exacerbated by staffing shortages and post-acute placement issues.
