A key to success in 21st century medicine will be the ability to create a learning health system. In so doing, academic health centers have an advantage as the only organizations with the ability to capture the synergy from optimal alignment of education, research, and patient care.
The Aligned Institutional Mission (AIM) Program was created to support this alignment on an individualized, institutional basis.
