This resource provides the tools to conduct a 60-minute workshop on using generative AI to navigate difficult feedback conversations. The slides include a short background on feedback in medical education, current uses of AI for delivering feedback, and ethical considerations as well as practice examples of how generative AI tools (Yoodli, ChatGPT) can be used to assist in preparing to deliver challenging verbal and written feedback. Timing and speaker notes are included. Although the authors provide their own examples, users are free to adapt as necessary. The handout includes prompts for feedback at multiple trainee levels, so users can modify them, making the format transferable across institutions and flexible for virtual or in-person formats.
Note: Yoodli was used to create the video output in the workshop (April 11, 2025). ChatGPT was used to create the prompts and outputs in the workshop (April 11, 2025).
