AI-Enhanced Medical Education Content Creation Framework: A Systematic Tool Selection and Implementation Guide

This systematic framework provides structured guidance for AI tool selection and implementation to help faculty who feel overwhelmed by the numerous AI tools available. It responds to the critical challenge of AI confusion and overreliance identified by the International Advisory Committee for Artificial Intelligence (IACAI). The six-step iterative process (goal - format - deployment - sources - AI tools - workflow) with continuous human validation enables medical educators to create high-quality educational content efficiently. Applications include using AI tools cohesively to create learning experiences, assessments, and curricular components. Outcomes include reduced time in content creation with improved quality and evidence-informed institutional AI adoption while maintaining academic integrity.

This resource includes a six-step implementation guide with human-in-the-loop validation, addressing IACAI-identified risks while enabling responsible AI adoption. It includes real-world examples with prompt templates and practical workflows for creating multi-modal educational content across different AI platforms.

Note: Claude Sonnet 4, ChatGPT 4.5, Google NotebookLM, and Microsoft Copilot were all used to create this resource. All were accessed between March 2025 and August 2025.
