Technology and Data Group Membership & Benefits
Participation in the Technology and Data Group is open to anyone within an AAMC-member institution with an interest and responsibilities in technology and data. When you join the Technology and Data Group, you have the option to also participate in any of the Standing Committees and Ad Hoc Committees.

Standing Committees
Explore and join any committee that interests you — participation is open and flexible, with opportunities to join at any time during the year.
Education Technology Standing Committee: Responsible for informing Technology and Data Group members and the AAMC on education technology challenges, trends, and related infrastructure, as well as interfacing with other communities in this area. This committee may also be tasked with responding to emerging education technology issues.
Research Technology Standing Committee: Responsible for informing Technology and Data Group members and the AAMC on research technology challenges, trends, and related infrastructure while working collaboratively with other AAMC communities. This committee is also tasked with responding to emerging research technology issues.
Technology and Data Access Standing Committee: Responsible for promoting and championing equal opportunities and shared experiences among Technology and Data Group members and the broader community, particularly around the role of technology as support tools.
Data-Driven Academic Medical Centers (DDAMC) Standing Committee: The DDAMC seeks to provide a forum for ideas and discussion around creating and continuously improving data-driven decision-making across the academic medicine community by sharing knowledge and enabling academic medical centers to leverage new and existing data to inform decisions across their missions, strategic initiatives, and daily operations.
IT Operations Standing Committee: Responsible for convening Technology and Data Group members and leading conversations, both virtual and in person, around IT operations.
Chief Information Officer (CIO) Roundtable Standing Committee: The CIO Roundtable Standing Committee, open to all members, serves as a strategic forum within the Technology and Data Group for CIOs and equivalent senior IT leaders across academic medicine. This committee is designed to facilitate high-level dialogue, peer exchange, and thought leadership on the evolving role of information technology in advancing institutional priorities. By convening senior leaders in a confidential, collaborative environment, the CIO Roundtable Standing Committee strengthens the Technology and Data Group's ability to drive innovation and inform policy in the integration of information resources across academic medicine.
Ad-Hoc Committees
Ad Hoc Committees convene for approximately one year. Recruitment for these committees takes place in the spring and early summer.
IT in Academic Medicine Conference Planning Committee: This committee is charged with shaping the programming for the AAMC IT in Academic Medicine Conference, held annually in the spring.
Digital Demonstration Virtual Conference Planning Committee: This ad-hoc committee consists of three to four Technology and Data Group members tasked with planning the program for the virtual conference.
Mentorship Circle and Buddy Program Committee: The Mentorship Circle and Buddy Program Committee is tasked with shaping the experience of mentees and mentors participating in the program, including reviewing applications, matching mentors with mentees, and providing training and guidance to mentors leading Mentorship Circle Program engagements during the annual AAMC IT in Academic Medicine Conference.
