These toolkits, webpages, and reports were created to support biomedical research community. They were sourced from the former Group on Research, Education, and Training; the Group on Research Advancement and Development; and the Forum on Conflict of Interest.

This 2017 framework for aligning the graduate student mentor-mentee relationship offers a set of broad guidelines to initiate discussion at both the local and national levels.

Compact Between Postdoctoral Appointees and Their Mentors
This 2017 publication outlines key principles to support positive mentoring relationships between postdoctoral scholars and their mentors and encourage meaningful discussion among stakeholders.

National MD-PhD Program Outcomes Study (PDF)
Published in 2018, this study introduces a collaborative report by AAMC-affiliated researchers and partners that analyzes MD-PhD program outcomes using survey and data resources. It highlights the significant contributions of program directors, administrators, and AAMC staff in supporting this large-scale, data-driven study.

This open community forum content designed for sharing best practices and insights among professionals in biomedical research graduate training. It was created in 2023 as part of the former Group on Research, Education, and Training and is being retained here as an archived professional development resource.

This open community forum, created in 2020, is where professionals in MD-PhD training share best practices and exchange insights within the biomedical research community. This forum provides a space for postdoctoral program leaders to connect, engage in deeper discussion, and collaboratively develop solutions. It was created in 2025 as part of the former Group on Research, Education, and Training and is being retained here as a professional development resource.

Exploring the Landscape for Physician-Scientist Training and Career Development
This report, published in 2024, highlights case studies from eleven institutions to support improvements in physician-scientist training and career development, offering strategies to address common challenges.

GREAT Appropriate Treatment of Research Trainees Working Group
Developed in 2021, this resource outlines shared principles for fostering supportive research training environments, highlights behaviors that undermine these standards, and provides a framework for addressing related concerns in biomedical training. GREAT MD-PhD Competencies and Toolkit
This toolkit, developed in 2022, defines key competencies for MD-PhD training and supports formative assessment through a milestone-based framework. It helps align expectations, guide development, and improve training programs for physician-scientists. GRAND Community Calls
This community resource provides a forum for administrative leaders in biomedical research to connect, discuss emerging topics, share solutions, and build collaborations. It was developed as part of the former Group on Research Advancement and Development and is being retained here as an archived professional development resource.

The Convey® platform streamlines the creation and management of disclosure records by allowing users to securely store, update, and reuse information across organizations, making the disclosure process more efficient and consistent.
