Biomedical Research Advancement, Training, and Oversight Group Leadership

The Biomedical Research Advancement, Training, and Oversight Group will invite self-nominations for the Steering Committee annually. The Steering Committee provides leadership for the group and, in collaboration with the AAMC affinity group staff leader, helps shape the group’s strategic priorities and annual professional development opportunities.

All Biomedical Research Advancement, Training, and Oversight Group members are encouraged to apply for any appropriate Steering Committee seat that aligns with their role, interest, and expertise. Early in the calendar year, all members will receive notification of the open Steering Committee positions. Steering Committee members serve for one two-year term, which are staggered.

The Steering Committee is comprised of:

• One chair (one-year term).
• One chair-elect (one-year term).
• One immediate past chair (one-year term).
• Six members-at-large with the following roles:
  • Institutional research leader (e.g., research deans, vice presidents of research).
  • Research education and training professional (e.g., graduate deans; PhD, MD-PhD, and postdoctoral program directors and administrators).
  • Conflict of interest and/or research compliance professional (e.g., COI and research compliance directors and administrators).
