AAMC Supports Joining Forces
As a part of Joining Forces, more than 100 medical schools around the country have signed a pledge recognizing the sacrifice and commitment of our military service members, veterans, and their families, and have committed to mobilizing their integrated missions in education, research, and clinical care to train our nation's physicians to meet the health care needs of this community.

Joining Forces Wellness Week
In recognition of Veterans Day, the AAMC—with the White House Joining Forces team and the Center for Deployment Psychology at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences—is hosting the fifth annual Joining Forces Wellness Week to heighten awareness about the health needs of the nation’s veterans, service members, and families, and elevate the role that medical schools and teaching hospitals play in serving this community. The week-long initiative will take place November 7-11, 2016, and featured a webinar series focused on pertinent health issues. Registration is now open. Join the conversation using #JFWW on Twitter.
In support of the Joining Forces initiative, AAMC’s iCollaborative sponsors resources that are designed to help future physicians in the treatment of our nation's military service members, veterans, and their families. Topics cover various aspects of care, from the physical to the psychological, including but not limited to the challenges faced by multiple deployments, coping with combat injuries, suicide prevention, and grief counseling.
