    ERAS® for Letter Writers

Beginning with the 2027 Electronic Residency Application Service® (ERAS®) application cycle, Letters of Recommendation (LoR) will be submitted through the new AAMC Letter Writer PortalThe Letter of Recommendation Portal (LoRP) will no longer be available.

The AAMC Letter Writer Portal is a service facilitating the exchange of letters of recommendation/evaluation in support of AAMC application services. Letter writers use this system to manage requests and submit documents.

This 2027 season update is designed to simplify workflows, improve transparency, and support more consistent and reliable letter submissions for applicants, letter writers, schools, and residency/fellowship programs.

This modernization creates a foundation for future innovation, including the introduction of specialty-specific standardized letters in partnership with select specialties.
