The Advisor Information System for Access Managers

The Advisor Information System (AIS) gives advisors access to their advisees’ American Medical College Application Service® application information and scores from the Medical College Admission Test® and AAMC PREview® professional readiness exam.

Each institution designates an AIS Access Manager to manage access to the system for their advisors.

Request Access as an AIS Access Manager

If you have been identified as your institution’s AIS Access Manager, complete the Online AIS Access Request Form to request your access. This form is only for AIS Access Managers; advisors should not complete it.

The AAMC will launch a modernized AIS platform on Thursday, Nov. 12. Once the system is available and your access has been approved, you can open the User Management Tool (UMT) from the AIS main menu to manage your institution’s advisors.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Who can be an AIS Access Manager?
An AIS Access Manager must supervise or have oversight of the institution’s health professions advising function and have the authority to agree to the AIS Access Manager terms on the institution’s behalf. The Access Manager cannot also serve as an advisor.

What does the User Management Tool allow me to do?
You can invite new advisors, extend or remove advisor access, and view and manage invitations. The UMT also allows you to manage access for multiple advisors at once.

How do advisors receive access to the AIS?
New advisors you invite through the UMT will receive an email with a link to accept their invitation. They can use an existing AAMC account or create one. Invitation links are valid for 28 days.

What happens to current advisor access?
Advisors with active AIS access will retain access when the modernized system launches on Nov. 12. Going forward, the institution’s AIS Access Manager will manage advisor access through the UMT.
