Finance and Business Affairs Group Leadership

The Finance and Business Affairs Group will invite self-nominations for the Steering Committee annually. The Steering Committee provides leadership for the group and, in collaboration with the AAMC affinity group staff lead, helps shape the group’s strategic priorities and annual professional development opportunities.

All Finance and Business Affairs Group members are encouraged to apply for any appropriate Steering Committee seat that aligns with their role, interest, and expertise. Early in the calendar year, all members will receive notification of the open Steering Committee positions. Steering Committee members serve for one two-year term, which are staggered.

The Steering Committee is comprised of:

• One chair (one-year term).
• One chair-elect (one-year term).
• One immediate past chair (one-year term).
• Six members-at-large with the following roles:
  • Principal Business Officer Community lead.
  • Health System Finance Community lead.
  • Department Administrator Advisory Committee chair.
  • Data and Benchmarking Committee chair.
  • Mentorship Circle and Communications chair.
  • Member-at-large.

The Finance and Business Affairs Group Steering Committee shall also have one liaison from the Council of Deans.
