GIR Opportunities for Leadership and Engagement

The Group on Information Resources (GIR) offers a number of ways for members of the IT in academic medicine community to engage with their peers on a national level and beyond around all topics of technology applied to the clinical, education, and research missions of medical schools and academic medical centers, as well as the administrative and operational functions. GIR engagement provides opportunities to share knowledge, collaborate, network, participate on projects and in groups, gain and hone leadership skills, as well as become leaders of the community.

With all of the resources and opportunities available, it may seem difficult to even know how or where exactly to get started. Below is a guide for navigating the engagement and leadership opportunities available to you through the GIR.

Upon joining the Group, new members receive a welcome email with information and links to the resources and opportunities available to them to get started.

Engagement in the beginning may simply mean observing and learning. GIR members are automatically added to the listserv and will receive notifications about events relevant to this community from webinars to conferences and more. If you have a desire to actively participate and step up your engagement, there are opportunities you may be interested in below.
