The Senate voted 51-44 to confirm Erica Schwartz, MD, JD, MPH, as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Wednesday. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) was the only Democrat to join all voting Republicans in approving the confirmation.
