UCSD Physician Update communicates rapidly-changing information on COVID-related topics to UC San Diego Health physicians. With a 52% average unique open rate since the newsletter launched on March 15, 2020, physicians trust the newsletter to provide timely and relevant information in a respectful and informative voice. At the height of the COVID crisis, Editor-in-Chief Rachel Thomae pivoted from producing one newsletter a month to six issues a week. The newsletter is currently published every Tuesday and Thursday and is sent to over 4,000 physicians and trainees.
