Data from the AAMC Survey of Resident/Fellow Stipends and Benefits are publicly available to AAMC constituents and others with an interest in graduate medical education issues. Institutions—either hospitals or medical schools—are instructed to complete the survey only if they issue the checks for resident stipends.
The data collected in this survey have been classified by AAMC as confidential, which means that identified individual and institutional data will not be published or shared with other institutions or persons without permission. Statistics are only displayed if they represent five or more responding institutions.
Since 2018, the survey fields every year. The next survey is planned for 2020.
Participating institutions may be eligible to receive a special report by request. The charge for a special report depends, in part, on the length of time to complete the analysis. To request a special report, or for additional information, please fill out the Request AAMC Data form.
