Shared governance is a longstanding tradition in higher education that emphasizes the joint responsibility of faculty and administrators in institutional decision-making. This data snapshot examines data from the StandPoint™ Faculty Engagement Survey to provide a national benchmark of faculty perceptions of key components of shared governance including communication, transparency, and faculty participation in governance. Analyses include significant differences in perceptions by faculty appointment types and school characteristics.
