The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), on June 10, published a new request for information seeking feedback from stakeholders to inform policymaking strategies to improve mental health and the prevention, treatment, and recovery of substance use disorder as a chronic disease. The HHS seeks comments on current research, programs, and policies that have been successful, as well as the identification of current gaps that can be addressed through new policies. Comments are due July 5, and the HHS may use the feedback to inform future policy proposals.
