In a Dec. 11 letter (PDF) to the chairs and ranking members of the House and Senate Labor-Health and Human Services-Education Appropriations Subcommittees, the AAMC joined 128 advocacy organizations and institutions of higher education across the biomedical research community in urging at least $1.5 billion for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in fiscal year (FY) 2026. The letter emphasized the importance of sustaining ARPA-H funding in a manner that supplements, rather than supplants, investments in the National Institutes of Health and other key health agencies.
