Technology is rapidly transforming health care, and everyone should benefit. This isn’t just about code – it’s about power, access, and ensuring AI helps to remove barriers in health.
The NAACP Center for Health Equity, in partnership with Sanofi, launched a Health AI Task Force to demand that AI and emerging technologies are used in inclusive ways to promote and support health equity, rather than undermine it. Led by Dr. Craig Watkins, Executive Director of the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin, the Task Force published a groundbreaking White Paper that highlights the promises of Health AI and calls for intentional design and governance to ensure these technologies embed bold equity principles. Building a Healthier Future focuses on some of the critical challenges and opportunities that are emerging as AI evolves and will play an ever-increasing role in health care.

Building Data Culture, Governance, and AI Readiness: Bridging Clinical, Education, and Research
This webinar brought together three Johns Hopkins efforts that showed how a large academic medical center was approaching data governance, data culture, and responsible AI use. The value was not in presenting a finished model. It was in showing real institutional work in progress: strong efforts in separate domains, early connections across missions, and practical lessons for others facing the same complexity.

Bringing Data Culture into the Future
This webinar explored the core domains of data culture and examined the questions, challenges, and trade-offs that new technologies introduce into organizational data use and governance. It highlighted how a strong data culture enabled teams to be proactive rather than reactive in navigating these shifts. The session also outlined critical conversations institutions needed to have immediately—and to revisit in six months and one year—to stay ahead of rapid changes in analytics, AI, and digital transformation.

Navigating the Data Soup: Web3, AI, and the Future of Healthcare Data
AI and cloud technologies are advancing rapidly in medicine, but fragmented data systems and privacy constraints continue to limit access to patient‑level data. New platforms leverage blockchain, encryption, and tokenization to support data privacy and provenance, yet most academic medical centers struggle to operationalize these tools. This webinar explored how Web 3.0 technologies could help address persistent challenges in healthcare data governance and use.

Let AI Do the Work: Developing Effective Change Management Plans
This session explored how generative AI can accelerate and strengthen change management in academic medicine, particularly in environments where traditional planning cycles lag behind rapid transformation. Through a live demonstration, presenters showed how participants could use gen AI to co-develop a practical change management plan and shared ready-to-use templates and resources to support real-world implementation. This topic was previously presented at the Group on Business Affairs (GBA) and Group on Institutional Planning (GIP) Joint Spring Meeting.

Continuous Professional Development in AI: Building a Lifelong Learning Plan (Hosted by GEA)

Preparing for AI Integration in Clinical Education (Hosted by GEA)
This webinar examined how AI reshaped clinical practice and diagnostic reasoning, including risks of deskilling, never skilling, and mis-skilling. Presenters reviewed AI applications in clinical care and shared practical strategies for integrating these tools into education, assessing learner readiness, and evaluating outcomes. The session also addressed ethical and relational dynamics in physician–patient and human–computer interactions, and highlighted how educators incorporated adaptive learning strategies.
