New PCORI Funding Opportunities

Oct. 1—Deadline to submit new letters of intent for these broad funding opportunities from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to support four research areas designated as high-priority by PCORI: addressing disparities, assessment of options, communication and dissemination research, and improving healthcare systems. Of special interest are projects related to anti-cancer agents in adults, genetic sequencing in cancer treatment, peripheral artery disease, and suicide prevention.

Omics-guided Biobehavioral Interventions for Improved Health Outcomes: A Step Forward in Translation (R01)

Oct. 5—Deadline to apply for this funding opportunity from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that supports clinical research in genomics, metabolomics, microbiomics, and other -omics to incorporate research findings into “translatable, personalized biobehavioral interventions for improved health outcomes.”

Data Coordinating Center for Multi-Site Investigator-Initiated Clinical Trials (U24)

Oct. 11—Deadline to apply to this National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI) grant for the development of a Data Coordinating Center in partnership with a Clinical Coordinating Center as sites for “efficacy, comparative effectiveness, pragmatic and/or implementation research clinical trials.”

Leveraging Health Information Technology (Health IT) to Address Minority Health and Health Disparities (R01)

Oct. 28 – Deadline to apply for this cycle of this NIH-funded grant to study how health IT systems impact “minority health and health disparity populations in access to care, quality of care, patient engagement, and health outcomes.”

NCI Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Fellow Transition Award

Dec. 4—Application deadline for this NIH award designed to “encourage and retain outstanding graduate students recognized by their institutions for their high potential and strong interest in pursuing careers as independent cancer researchers.” The award also includes career development opportunities and transitional support.
