Aug. 20 -- Deadline to apply for this funding from the NIH High-Risk, High-Reward Research Program and Common Fund for early stage investigators in “behavioral, social, biomedical, applied, and formal sciences and topics that may involve basic, translational, or clinical research.”

Patient Safety Learning Laboratories: Advancing Patient Safety through Design, Systems Engineering, and Health Services Research (R18)

Sept. 25 -- Deadline to apply for this funding from the Agency on Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) to develop Patient Safety Learning Laboratories, "places and networks where transdisciplinary teams identify closely related threats to diagnostic or treatment efforts associated with a high burden of harm and cost," and work together to create and evaluate innovative solutions.

Investigator Initiated Research in Computational Genomics and Data Science (R01)

Oct. 5 -- First available standard date to apply for this funding opportunity from the National Human Genome Research Institute that supports "fundamental genomics research that develops innovative analytical methodologies and approaches, early-stage development of tools and software, and refinement or hardening of software and tools of high value to the biomedical genomics community."

Clinical and Translational Science Award (UM1)

Dec. 26 -- Deadline to submit a letter of intent for applications for the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) Program hubs, "a national, collaborative consortium focused on bringing more treatments to more patients more quickly through advancing clinical and translational science."
