The TEC Awards and new TEC Pilot Grants recognize and highlight the efforts of member institutions that are advancing health care equity through telehealth and health technology in new and effective ways. Awardees and grantees are also using telehealth to tackle barriers to care that impact health and health care equity.
Ambulatory Access Measures: New Patient Median Lag Time Data Snapshot
The AAMC and Vizient Data Snapshot, “Ambulatory Access Measures: New Patient Median Lag Time,” provides an overview of variation in lag times across Clinical Practice Solutions Center member organizations measured by the time between scheduled and completed appointment dates. Health systems can use this snapshot when evaluating their own data.
The AAMC Launches the Primary Care First Collaborative
The AAMC’s new Primary Care First (PCF) Collaborative provides proactive advocacy support, policy interpretation, education on programmatic rules and methodologies, data management and analysis, benchmarking (in partnership with DataGen), and facilitation of best practice sharing with institutions that are participating in the PCF model.

The Project CORE (Coordinating Optimal Referral Experiences) Network recently expanded to include six new teaching hospitals and health systems that are implementing the Project CORE model this year.

eConsults and Enhanced Referrals: Project CORE
The AAMC has partnered with more than 40 teaching hospitals, children's hospitals, and health care organizations to successfully implement eConsults and enhanced referrals. Through these new tools built into the electronic health record and a robust implementation strategy, Project CORE improves communication and coordination between primary care providers and specialists, enables timelier access to specialty input, and improves value and experience for patients and providers.
AAMC Value-Based Care Collaboratives
The Value-Based Care Team offers policy interpretation, advocacy support, and clinical insights on best practices to improve quality and manage patients’ total cost of care.
