Last Updated: September 11, 2020

Description

With the cancelation of many clinical rotations during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, medical students at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine (CCOM) formed the CCOM COVID-19 Task Force to help decrease the burden on healthcare workers in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. School closures, shortages of healthcare workers, and travel restrictions have had unprecedented effects on families in the community, and this organization wished to alleviate some of the stress placed on healthcare workers and their families during this trying time. One of the projects that this organization formed was Resident Wellness to acknowledge health care workers, especially interns and residents in the crucial work and contributions. This guide includes step-by-step instructions on how to collect, assemble and distribute care packages for residents.
