Outpatient Clinical Student Rotation Without Direct Patient Contact: Leveraging Care Transitions to Benefit Students and Patients

Description

This guide describes our experience using transitions of care to provide a valuable outpatient clinical learning experience for our students while avoiding direct patient contact. This rotation provides the opportunity for students to participate in meaningful clinical care under immediately available indirect supervision. Faculty are able to assess several competencies and provide immediate individualized focused feedback to the learners.
